Vehicle Crimes
Vehicle crimes are those in which a vehicle is used in the commission of a crime. Vehicle crimes include:
- Driving with a Suspended License is the act of driving while the person’s license has been suspended by either the DMV or court, for reasons such as reckless driving, or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Drunk Driving is the act of driving a motor vehicle with blood levels of alcohol in excess of a legal limit. Drunk driving is also known as driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI).
- Hit-and-Run is usually defined as the failure to stop and provide name, contact information, and license number when involved in a vehicle collision, where “vehicle” includes motorcycles, trucks, or bicycle. In addition, a hit-and-run may involve property or a pedestrian.
